I am a Victorian Soul, live in a small townhouse that was built in the mid 1970's, not a huge Mega Mansion, with my Hubby Joe, who is a Retired Letter Carrier. I worked night shift as an RN on a Hospital based Rehabilitation( Physical Medicine) Unit for 37 years before I had Knee Replacement Surgery and officially Retired in 2019 after 41 years working in Direct Patient Care ... I am LOVING Retirement!!!!

I DABBLE IN A BIT OF THIS AND THAT!!!!

Welcoming Winter 2016, the Outside

You may remember that the outside of our Townhouse looked like this decorated for Christmas.......
The front has now been changed over from Christmas decorations to Winter Decorations!!
From this......
To this.......
And from this.......
To this......

And we FINALLY got some Snow!!
These photos were taken during some snow showers.....
I added some Snowflakes to the tree and garland......
Winter signs and slates......
I replaced the red velvet bows with burlap bows......

A Winter Wreath, that I made by connecting a pine cone wreath to an evergreen wreath, hangs on the door......
On the other side of the front porch......
I added a "Welcome to the Warming House" sign to the sled.......
I bought this sign in Target many years ago!
And I made something new for Winter!!
A Snow Man Wreath!!

I connected 3 different size wreaths that I already had with wire, used a red and white bow that I was no longer using on another wreath as the "scarf ".........
Added red shatterproof ornaments for buttons, wired a block of styrofoam to the top and put my one and only hat on it!!
 I HATE hats!

And added lights to it!!
I wanted to hang it higher but it would have hit the light fixture......
In the corner.......
Snowflakes replaced the bells on the railing.....
More burlap bows  made out of different types of burlap ribbon that I had in my stash!!
The fake greenery in the pots look better with a dusting of snow on them.......
A lighted Snowflakes hangs in the middle of the railing......
The flower bed under the Living Room window....
A Winter Wreath hangs on the window.....
I bought this wreath at Target several years ago and added a snowflake from Dollar Tree and burlap ribbon to it last year......

Penguin flags replace the Christmas ones......
Pine cones with white painted tips hang on my tomato cage topiaries.........
The front flower bed......
A penguin slate is covered with snow on the bench......
 Another Winter Welcome flag......

The front of the house will stay decorated like this now until the end of Feb.
In my next post, I will share how it all looks at night in the middle of a Snow Squall!!
So I hope you will come by and visit  again!!

And thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

If you do not have a blog, PLEASE  give me some way to reply to your comment, maybe by including your email in your comment.  If I can not find a way to reach you, I will reply on the post where you commented so please check back......
